Timeframes

July 6th would be ideal date to get feedback, having the application complete before that would be good.

I need to get back to Joe/Marcel about the Flex Form version.

Goals

Take Royal bank of Canada application, rebuild using Fiber and Guide Builder

  • Yes we will set up a conf between us and Adobe consulting – Miroslav
  • There is no legal issue with giving us the full application as is.

Experience of user

How much do I lean on Steve vs going it on my own?

Scenario: Marcel: I don’t have training specifically in LiveCycle, a beginner/newbie, I’m picking up the tooling on the fly. Joe: Feels that someone who has had some training in LiveCycle is a better scenario.

We didn’t really resolve this. For the purposes of the exercise, I will try to be as self-sufficient as possible, and try to document the areas where I needed assistance.

    TODO (Joe)

    • Dropdown for Sprint numbers in bug system – Jeff Sass
    • Investigate ability to bulk-import bugs

    Use Sprint 13, available soon.

    Joe’s alternate agenda

Primary objective is try out guides functionality, and recreate BOC.

There is another option to use Fibre from Flex Builder. Flex Builder is definitely developer-oriented. Flex Builder does lot of code generation to help. So Joe would like to redo the experience in Flex Builder.

DataServices 3 (4?) beta is going live this week, and there is supposed to be a bunch of doco around Builder 4 and discovery and Fiber.

Steve Walker can do some knowledge transfer, and Gary Gilcrest can do a dog and pony. The service discovery stuff should be quite easy to work out.

Goal would be to create something that is visually similar to a Form Guide.

Ball is in my court to take further.

The tooling would also be very interesting – i.e. how you embed the flex vs Guide into your app.

Also, how styling would work between the two.

Feel free to grab custom components to assist.

Gary would love to see how to build a generic wizard framework in Flex.

    Using Sprint 12

    • What are variants and constraints, and how do I use them?
    • How do I create links  between entities?
    • Is there any way to create a re-usable class or type. For example, I have residential address, postal address, and previous address, all of which look like an address? Is there any way to create an address type, like you can in XML schema?
    • Why does an entity need to be persistent, and have an id property, in order to be used within a Guide? Surely all we’re really doing is effective creating an XML schema?
